Sites · Canada

The Canadian landscape.

The busiest research sites in Canada are the big academic hospital systems; Princess Margaret and Sunnybrook in Toronto, the McGill university hospitals in Montreal, London Health Sciences in Ontario; not pharmaceutical companies. These institutions run the trials, enroll the patients, and generate the evidence.

The twenty institutions below currently host the most studies with an active or recruiting site in Canada. Together they form the landscape our London, Ontario office works in: large teaching hospitals with deep pipelines, where sponsor teams, coordinators, and reviewers need a shared, governed record of the work.

Top 20 · ranked by studies with an active or recruiting site

Ranked by the number of studies with an active or recruiting site at each institution in Canada, per ClinicalTrials.gov, retrieved September 2026. Spelling variants of the same institution are merged and a study counts once per institution; University Health Network member hospitals are ranked separately rather than under the umbrella. Counts change as studies register, so only the ranking is shown.
